2024 RE-CONNECT《SHIFTING IMAGES》

Introduction

Shifting Images was started by the artist Michel Marang and it is an overall musical and visual program, consisting of six new pieces for clarinets, electronics and photo sequences.
As diverse as the composers and their styles are, the thread through this program is formed by the shifting patterns that occur in every single piece. They are visualized in photo sequences, each with its theme, which will be projected simultaneously with the live performance of the pieces. The relationship between music and image can be entirely different in each piece, and based on form, concept or just text. However, music has always been the starting point. As a result, the image does not have the dominating position that it so often has in film, video and other art forms.

Apart from his interests and activities in classical music, theatre, and world music, Marang specializes in contemporary music.
