2023 RE-CONNECT《Freedom Through Movement》Workshop

Introduction

Nicolas Faubert has recognized that the foundational techniques of specific dance styles don’t resonate with all participants. Therefore, he introduces an approach centered around freedom of expression, which gradually becomes the core focus of the workshop.
Crafting Your Own Bodily LanguageThis workshop goes beyond mere aesthetics and spatial utilization. It incorporates elements of visualization and draws upon the participants’ daily life experiences, which are rich in information that enables true freedom of movement. In this way, each individual has the opportunity to develop their own “bodily alphabet.”
Improvisation: The Body as an InstrumentIn an environment that encourages open exchange, the workshop promotes the practice of bodily improvisation. Each participant is invited to view their body as a unique instrument, thus becoming the creator of their own physicality—a living, moving work of art that can integrate into various settings and contexts.
Explore and Understand Yourself Through DanceThe workshop provides opportunities for experimentation, allowing participants to get to know themselves better through concepts like flow and gravity, in relation to space, time, and music. This paves the way for a form of abstraction and personal transcendence.
Evolving Dance: Reactivity and TransformationFrom this amalgamation of genres and artistic hybridizations, an evolutionary dance practice emerges. It adapts and transforms in response to its environment, offering a dynamic and enriching experience for all participants.
