Sound Manipulation of Matter is a concert proposal by Brazilian sound artist and musician Marcelo Armani that runs through the concepts of electroacoustic music, concrete music, Krautrock and Ambient, employing experimental compositional techniques in the fields of sound art, improvisation and iPad music.
Supported by interfaces, music modeling and editing resources, analog and digital languages, artists are constantly shifting and reproducing intentions for improvisation. In this case, the outcome of each concert is unique. Each element dedicated to sound creation is rooted in the philosophy of ephemerality, action in the moment, the “cause of error”, and a continuous listening to the materiality of sound as principles and feedback in the construction of the narrative process.
Sound Manipulation of Matter is a sensory invitation that suggests the deconstruction of sound abstraction and inserts into the realm of perception of the plasticity and spatial nature of this physical phenomenon, interacting with the different forms and means of the sculptural practice of volume and traces on the material of space and time.
