Basic profile

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Incheon University in 1990, the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin in 1995, and received his master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kassel, Germany in 1999. Kim Tae-joon works through a variety of media, such as painting, photography, video, and installation, which he uses to find historical events in contemporary discourse, among which Timecapsule, which combines photography with computer 3D graphics, is his recent work. The basic idea of his work is to construct repetitive operations based on different representations, in such a way as to try to connect the experience of life and show a linear time process. His works have been collected by the Yangpyung Museum in South Korea, Germany, Poland and other places, and his works have been collected by many institutions such as Yangpyung Museum in South Korea, Casoria Museum of Contemporary Art in Italy, Documenta in Kassel in Germany, and Brass Cultural Foundation in Germany.
