Alice Rensy is a choreographer, playwright and contemporary dance creator born in France and based in Hong Kong. As a choreographer, she was commissioned by the International Creative Arts Festival in the United States in 2016 to create the solo “Middle” for Yang Hao, and in the same year, she collaborated with painter Nathalie Rothkoff to create the solo “We Are Talking About You” at Art Basel Hong Kong, and in November 2014, she created a work titled “Vespers” for two dancers at the “Black Project” in Hong Kong. In collaboration with Yang Hao, they co-created the latest version of his solo work titled “Straight Talk” at the 2014 Hong Kong Arts Festival, which was finalized for the Yokohama International Dance Competition. In May 2014, he created a work titled “Nothing, but something” for 5 dancers, and in 2016, he created a work for Yang Hao called “Pied-a-terre”. In addition, since 2009, she has been working on a project called “HappArt” twice a year in a specific location, which is done in a private space and takes place in the homes of other dancers at any given time. In May 2014, she collaborated with American artist Ryan McNamara on a performance by 20 dancers at Art Basel Hong Kong, which was watched by 700 people. From 2011 to 2012, she worked as manager for choreographer and playwright Raimund Hoghe, with whom she visited major institutions in Europe, Tokyo and New York. She focuses on contemporary dance and live performance in China and Hong Kong, and looks forward to working with emerging artists to help them enter the more international stage.
