Liucija’s work often uses critiques of fashion consumerism, which helps participants better understand their relationship with clothes. The story of you and your favorite outfit will become part of the artist’s work. In a modern society where consumerism is prevalent, people have mountains of clothes, but only a few pieces that they actually wear often. The artist mobilized everyone to draw their favorite pieces on wooden boards, including cheongsams, sweaters, T-shirts, skirts, vests and more.
Everyone painted fashion pictures with colorful colors, thinking about their most frequently used and truly favorite clothes in the moment of creation, and weaving on the wooden boards was a vision of sustainability for our clothing. Participants took photos with the boards of the clothes they created, recording the creative process and moments. It was as if we were not only drawing clothes, but also imagining and envisioning a better and sustainable future.
