A RE-SALON | Employing ‘Residency’ As a Methodology

Introduction

A RE-SALON is a series of salon projects after the renewal of the A4 Residency Art Center in 2023. Based on the original “10+1” sharing model, it freely exchanges multi-field knowledge, different cultural backgrounds and life experience by how to raise an interesting question that can be discussed. It encourages daily observation, encourages a relaxed and natural discussion atmosphere, tries to break down barriers such as gender, discipline, race and culture, and concentrates the world on the ground and share it with the world.

We invite residency practitioners and observers to explore diverse perspectives and attempts of using residency as a method, based on multiple perspectives and value scales. We will still gather in our familiar living room, centering around “residency,” posing questions from various sectors, and awaiting each other’s responses.

This salon features 6 partners from different fields sharing and questioning, utilizing the “10+1” discussion model to bring forth ideas and emotions from diverse domains: art, education, hospitality, rural areas, urban neighborhoods… The dimensions of exchange are rapidly expanding.
